Our client is seeking a Director of Technical Services. This team is responsible for the management of the production processing environment, including the administration and monitoring of high availability customer facing production systems, transaction processing switches, settlement systems, and other ancillary systems. Change control, switch engineering, performance management and reporting, completion of the daily production plan, problem management, and change management are all key accountabilities of this department.

Reporting into this position is the Director, IS Operations who manages the Systems Operators and the Production Support Analysts.

Required skills:

Minimum 10 years' experience in an IT Operations Management position
Strong experience in team/project management within technology fields
Excellent organizational skills and project tracking abilities
Strong focus and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels
Canadian payments and/or technical operations management experience
Experience managing Windows and UNIX payment systems
Track record of building and motivating teams
ATM or POS systems and processing experience an asset
Postilion EFT switch environment experience an asset
Can effectively manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
Possesses initiative, innovation, and vision

The Director, Technical Services is directly responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the company's core transaction processing platform. He/she will be instrumental in continuing to improve IT operations by implementing a leading edge fault tolerant infrastructure, proactive monitoring and alerting technologies, and operational best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

Workflow management and resource planning and scheduling
Interacting daily with engineers, technicians, project managers and senior management
Conducting meetings, creating and maintaining timelines, and keeping large, diverse groups informed of progress and obstacles
Acting as a representative of DC Payments to Interac, Cirrus, Plus and other network schemes, as required
Coordinating and planning systems changes to minimize vulnerabilities and client outages
Ensuring Disaster Recovery policies and procedures are effective and well observed
Proactive overall management, leadership and supervision of DC Payments' IT Operations, Switch Engineering and Production Support groups
Ensure the availability and stability of mission critical systems is maintained, the Postilion RealTime EFT switch, the proprietary settlement & reporting system and the supporting systems and infrastructure
Communicate with, and present to, senior level executives and/or customers with regard to strategy, initiatives, or performance of the Technical Services team and technology platforms
Maintain technical relationships with the company's Connection Services Providers and Interchange connectors, as well as other switches and relevant organizations such as financial institution banking systems vendors
Specify / Develop and maintain Information Systems and Technology related documentation, including interface specifications, Information Systems processes and procedures, user manuals, process mapping, systems flowcharting and development documentation
Change Management Control
Develop and maintain formal policies and procedures for Information Systems group
Research and develop new IT Operations systems/ solutions which will enhance the company's ability to manage its technical environment in an efficient manner
Maintain levels of training within the department to ensure availability of trained personnel to support the mission-critical' systems employed in the company's operation
Project Management, implementation, certification and support of links between the DC Payments switch and financial institution clients' banking systems
Develop systems redundancy and disaster recovery processes and procedures to ensure the company is adequately positioned to recover from a systems failure in a timely fashion
