The Welding Shop Superintendent reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager. His or her role will be to promote and implement advanced welding technologies in the fabrication of pressure vessels, boilers and structural steel components.
Key Job Responsibilities:
The Welding Shop Superintendent will be a highly motivated and progressively minded in order to maximize shop production.
The successful candidate will understand the dynamics and human aspects of how a large shop functions and through diplomacy, tact, and persuasion create and maintain a synergistic work force.
The shop superintendent will actively work to maintain a best in class crew and will work closely with the manufacturing manager to maintain an adequate work force.
The Superintendent will have oversight of the shop foreman who reports on the following items:
o Preparation and layout, pressure welding, structural steel and re-boiler fabrication.
o Manage the QC reporting on issues pertaining to materials, quality, print discrepancy.
o Work is being conducted according to the shop’s Welding Procedure Specifications, ASME Code and the Clients’ specifications.
Experience & Education:
The successful candidate must have the following requirements:
o Journeyman Ticket in Boilermaker, welding (structural plate fitter) or preferably both.
o Must have SAW experience with twin wire dual head equipment.
o A Minimum of 5 to 8 years Canadian Experience in supervising a welding shop in the fabrication of pressure vessels is a must.
Salary: $120,000 to $140,000 dependent on experience and qualifications.
