Our client, who is a diverse industrial manufacturer specializing in oil & gas and other industrial construction equipment is currently looking for a Senior Purchaser with Canadian Experience for its operations in Western Canada, based in Alberta.
The Sr. Purchaser is responsible for organizing the procurement activities within and across the various business units of the company.
Manage & control purchasing activities, including bid preparation, review and award
Source and expedite materials to meet Code and design specifications
Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures
Assist and lead corporate strategic purchasing initiatives
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
Administer concise and accurate procurement process documents required
Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in the purchasing and distributing
Provide support for our estimating/manufacturing and inventory functions
Negotiate and administer contracts with suppliers
Evaluate and monitor contract/Supplier performance
Other duties, as assigned
Previous purchasing experience (Canadian) 5 + years
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Working knowledge (Canadian context) of the Oil/ Gas and heavy construction, manufacturing industry and its products
