The position: Graphic Designer (Full Time)
Start date: Immediately
We are looking for a graphic designer who is keen to pursue a career designing in the field of marketing and advertising. The ideal candidate will have a background in fine arts, graphic design or multimedia production and a strong desire to learn about all aspects of agency life.
A graphic designer will be responsible for creating design solutions that have a high visual impact. The role involves listening to clients and understanding their needs before making design decisions. The designer's designs are required for a huge variety of products and activities, such as websites, advertising, books, magazines, posters, product packaging, exhibitions and displays, corporate communications and corporate identity, e.g. giving organizations a visual 'brand'.
Bachelor's or equivalent qualification in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,)
Knowledge of graphics software: CorelDraw, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
Knowledge of Flash, Sony Vegas, Premiere Pro, and After Effects is a bonus

Working knowledge of social media platforms
A high-level of enthusiasm and a conscientious attitude
A genuine desire to gain hands-on experience working in an agency environment
Strong layout and typography skills
Chinese language written and conversational is a bonus but not required
Roles & responsibilities
meeting clients and account managers to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job;
interpreting the client's business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose;
thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts;
using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time;
presenting finalized ideas and concepts to senior designers and creative director;
working with a wide range of media, including photography and computer-aided design;
proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work;
contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief;
demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches;
working on layouts and artworking pages ready for print;
commissioning illustrators and photographers;
working as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.
