IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting for a CONTROLLER for our Nisku, Alberta client.
As the Controller, you will establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors and clients. You will supervise and schedule all accounting staff duties. You will work in support of the company’s policy vision, mission and goals. You will follow Quality Management System policies, procedures and protocols, prepare, reconcile and maintain all accounting records and reports, you will participate in nonconformity and improvement reporting processes, provide quality customer service and a high degree of client satisfaction and confidence. You will also complete monthly financial and budget reporting, establish, maintain and revise all procedures relating to the accounting department, prepare, reconcile and maintain all accounting records and reports, troubleshoot problems, prepare and enter bank deposits, create and maintain records relevant to accounts receivable for the fiscal year. You will also support and communicate effectively with all departments, manage payroll system, produce employee paychecks and T4’s, manage group policies, health plan and RRSP contributions and maintain employee handbook and traceability of all records. You will also deal with Revenue Canada and WCB, develop job descriptions and organization charts and help with the onboarding of new employees with the employee manual.
As the Controller, you will also provide timely and accurate accounts receivable and account payable responsibilities. You will be responsible for printing invoices, preparing, entering and delivering bank deposits, mailing out invoices and statements and collection calls. You will perform weekly, monthly and annually account reconciliations. You will also perform monthly financial and budget reporting, maintain insurance policies, bank debt and capital assets and maintain traceability of all record.
Accounting and financial reporting experience.
Knowledge of accounting principles and terminology.
Human Resources experience and knowledge of Revenue Canada, Employment Insurance, Workers’ Compensation Board, Labor Law, Employment Standards Code and group benefit requirements.
Knowledge of DEFT transactions and payroll software.
Keyboarding and data entry skills.
Possesses an analytical thought process.
Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
Ability to solve problems.
Commitment to organization, quality, efficiency, safety and detail.
Ability to work independently or as a team.
Knowledge of quality management system.
Knowledge of computer software and office equipment.
