The Canada Research Centre, based in Ottawa, is leading research and development of Telecom Network Infrastructure, in 4G/LTE-A, optical, network processing, and switching/router technology as we continued to promote all-IP transformation for our customers.

Position Overview
You will provide ongoing human resource service and support to the regular and contract employees of the Canada Research Centre. The Human Resources Business Partner will provide value in the areas of staffing, employee relations, employee communications, performance management, and rewards and recognition.

Responsibilities
As a member of our Human Resources team, you will act as subject matter expert within HR. Based on a clear understanding of the organization strategy and leading practice research, you will proactively develop strategic HR programs, processes and policies, and be responsible for global governance while improving global consistency. You will be responsible for solving technical issues escalated by HR Shared Service and business leaders as related to talent and recruitment management. You will be responsible for the following:

­Global Interface: you will consistently communicate with our China-based colleagues in our product line headquarters to assure global program compliance.

­Recruitment: you will work with the HR team and support the Canada Research Centre managers to post jobs, screen candidates, schedule and participate in interviews, and complete reference checks.

­Performance management: you will provide support to the organization on Huawei’s performance management platform including setting up templates, managing data and creating training and communications.

­Onboarding: you will engage Huawei’s shared service organization through the full onboarding process; you will lead orientation sessions for all new hires.

­Employee File Management: you will be responsible for employment and other human resource documentation.

­Health and Safety: you will be involved with the Health and Safety Committee and ensure ongoing legal compliance.
­Other duties and projects as required.

Qualifications

­College diploma or university degree in a related discipline and 3-5 years relevant experience in human resources, high tech preferably

­Advanced computer skills: Internet research and web-based transactions, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and PowerPoint), strong Excel skills

­Excellent time management, planning and organization skills, as well as strong attention to detail

­Adaptability/flexibility a must have to be successful in this role

­Superior time management skills

­Effective communication skills; both verbal and written

­Strong initiative required to be successful in this role

­Previous experience with payroll systems and HRMS (Oracle) is an asset
