Position Purpose
The IT Support Administrator’s role is to ensure that a high level of desktop, server, and network support is maintained within the organization and solutions at client facilities.

Nature & Scope

  • Provide both Enterprise and Solution support to a growing and diverse user base by receiving, prioritizing and actively resolving local and remote end user help requests
  • Maintain monthly server maintenance across seventy plus servers and additional workstations and peripheral equipment including printers, media players and other devices
  • Monitor and maintain network availability while protecting against potential threats (viral, spam, malware, etc.)
  • Maintain nightly backups and ensure maximum readiness for business continuity is achieved
  • Maintain records of installations and equipment configurations; develop and update support documentation
  • Work with other team members, vendors and clients to ensure user and customer needs are met
  • Assist the Project Team with new builds and launches and provide hardware support where needed
  • Assist in the on-call after hour’s support of client sites and business continuity systems
  • And any other duties as may be assigned

Education and Experience Required

  • Post-Secondary certificate/diploma in Computer Science
  • One to Two years of desktop/user support experience
  • Microsoft Windows XP/7/8 & Server 2003/08/12 Operating Systems and software support experience
  • Microsoft Office application support
  • Active Directory administration
  • Knowledge and experience in Backup and Disaster Recovery processes, Microsoft Exchange, networking and trouble ticket systems
  • Remote Desktop support applications (Remote Administrator, Teamviewer & RDP)
  • Basic to Moderate PC Hardware skills and experience
  • Very good customer service skills
  • Ability to self-manage workload
  • Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Willing to travel on occasion as required across Canada


  • Linux Server & Android OS
  • Microsoft SharePoint 2013, Exchange 2013, SQL 2000/08
  • Accpac, Citrix, MySQL, AppAssure, VMware, Meta frame, Terminal services, telephony
  • Fluent written and spoken English required, Bilingual French language skills also an asset


  • Entry Level Salary $33-38,000 per year
