Permanent Full Time for Camp Set Up

We are seeking a Journeyman Carpenter for our Camp Set Up team. The successful candidate will be responsible for set-up, construction, renovation, de-mobilization of modular units and remote camp installations. Reporting directly to the Project Manager or his designate, this position ensures that the Camps and fleet equipment are highly maintained for function and aesthetics. While the position is based in Grande Prairie, Alberta, the majority of time will be spent on various projects in remote regions of Northern Alberta and British Columbia.


-Complete various carpentry work for building projects, modular units, remote camp set-up, construction, renovation, installations and de-mobilization

-Maintain HNCC camp equipment to the highest possible condition, while complying with all of HNCC safety policies and procedures

-Ensure effective time manage and meet all necessary deadlines

-Interact with other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems on site

-Ensure cleanliness and housekeeping of all areas inside and outside the camp and ensure all camp equipment is in good repair

-Oversee and sign off on the work of the Apprentice Carpenters

-Comply with all of HNCC safety policies & procedures


-Alberta Journeyman Carpenter Certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter Certificate is a must (for out of Province Applicants) (3rd and 4th Year Apprentices will be considered)

-3 – 5 Years Carpentry Trade experience in the construction industry preferred but not required

-Carpentry, maintenance, service &/or construction experience in the Camps and Catering and/or oil and gas industry, or equivalent and knowledge of applicable industry and company codes, standards, regulations and procedures is an asset

-Valid Driver's License, recent and acceptable drivers abstract and current safety tickets

-Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with others

-Team builder, with demonstrated ability to pick quality talent and build high performance teams

-Self motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision

-Ability to be flexible with regards to work location and rotational work schedule is a must, including the ability to travel away from home for as long as 3 weeks at a time

-Strong analytical and detail oriented and problem solving skills

-Ability to complete paperwork accurately in a timely manner

-Excellent communicator and team player
