CONTRACT 3-4 months (possible ongoing)*

We are Western Canada’s leading distributor of organic & natural foods.
We are located in south Burnaby at the Glenwood Industrial Park, off Marine Drive
(closest SkyTrain is the 22nd St New Westminster station – we have a shuttle bus for staff)

We are looking for an IT Support person to temporarily cover our Help Desk needs. The person in this position will assist the IT manager in ongoing monitoring, maintenance and administration of our corporate computer system, serving and assisting our 100+ employees at 2 sites.

Job Description :

  • Provide first level technical support to employees by answering questions, fixing problems, trouble-shooting and educating
  • Administer, and troubleshoot the full suite of Windows products, including but not limited to Windows Server2003/2008, Exchange Server 2003/2010, SQL Server 2005/2008
  • Perform monitoring of corporate applications, network and other related devices that are used to support our environment
  • Ensuring the timely and successful completion of all data backups
  • Document and update the configuration changes of workstations/server
  • Perform hardware and software installations, upgrades and migrations as required

Working Conditions : This position is fulltime days (40hr/week), Monday to Friday. This is a temporary contract for 3 to 4 months, with the possibility of ongoing employment. Start date: as soon as possible.

Qualifications Sought :

  • Strong knowledge and experience in administration, support and troubleshooting Windows servers 2003/2008 services (AD,DHCP,DNS,WSUS,PRINT,FILE)
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2010
  • Hands on experiences with VMware and Citrix
  • Understanding of enterprise class database systems such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing and switching
  • A good understating of Firewall, VPN
  • Excellent analysis and problem solving skills
  • Organization skills - able to manage a time-sensitive workload and deal with concurrent urgent tasks
  • Good communication skills- both written and verbal
  • Capability to learn and adapt quickly
  • IBM I would be an asset
