HOURS: 8AM TO 4:30PM *
Off Hours Support: 4 week cycle
Responsible to the Database and Middleware Services Manager for providing operational and project support for Integration, Application and Web server products for development and production environments.
Assist in design work and upgrades in Server Application and Middleware areas.
Participate in research and evaluation of new technologies.
Consider security policies and implications to manage risk in Middleware area.
Provide off-hour support as required beyond the normal 4 week cycle.
Work within process and project management policies of Corporate IT to ensure proper quality and risks are managed. (ITIL, COBIT, PMI, CMMI, etc.)
Work with other Corporate IT teams such as Corporate Infrastructure, Corporate Applications Support and Maintenance as well as any project tasks for Corporate Applications Solutions and Implementation.
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by Database, Middleware and Integration Services Manager or Senior Applications Server Administrator.
- Some evening and weekend implementation tasks will be required
Technical knowledge of server applications and middleware software, working knowledge/experience of Linux/Unix & Windows operating systems and a basic understanding of the Oracle technology stack.
Experience with and/or certification in Operating systems, Middleware or Applications.
Strong problem solving skills.
Process management knowledge/experience (i.e. ITIL)
Ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with one or more of the following Server Applications: Appworx, SeeBeyond, Messageway, Oracle Internet Application Server, Web-Logic Application Server, Web-Centre, Web-Methods, J-Boss Application Server and experience in n-tier server application topology would be preferred.
Experience with purchased applications such as Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management System, Extended Enterprise Mgt, Transportation Management and Oracle E-Business Suite will be viewed as a definite asset.
