Good Job
Project coordinator/sales associate (Former Employee), Red Deer, ABJanuary 13, 2015
Pros: great benefits and lots of free lunchs
Cons: lack of teamwork
I worked and cross trained in many departments and enjoyed
learning them all.

A typical day for me was the dashboard and the installs.
I spent most of the day on the phone and resolving issues.
A very fast paced job and time management could become
an issue at times as the company was always cutting
positions. My biggest challenge was I was pulled in every
direction as I was trained in all aspects of the store. I was
doing a job that required three people to do previous so
frustration and no help became an issue. I believe the
management needs to be more hands on in all aspects
to serve the customers better.

Overall they were a good company to work for and they
do a lot for their employees. They have a great benefit
plan and do a lot for the community.

PAINT ASSOCIATE (Former Employee), BurlingtonJanuary 9, 2015
Pros: sometimes we got free food
Cons: long hours for part time work, no employee discount
Everyone was also so nice to me while I was training. The work was hard on the feet but rewarding enough. The managers were very understanding when I had to resign due to mental illness. Overall it was a great environment and I enjoyed working there.

receiving (Former Employee), Brampton, ONJanuary 8, 2015
worked there for 8 years busting butt day in and day out. used to work over nights, very rarely got any appreciation for doing all that I did. co workers for the most part was amazing to work with 98% of management was all about themselves and there was no loyalty to the people that actually did their jobs. upper management was a joke

Building Materials and Lumber Associate (Former Employee), Toronto, OntarioDecember 30, 2014
As a part-time, shift are were very irregular, so work/life balance was horrible. Learned a lot about building materials. Management was horrible. Most coworkers are lazy. The hardest part of the job was "the customer is always right" and watching how managers let customers literally yell at your face.

Seasonal Labourer (Former Employee), Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QCDecember 21, 2014
Cons: no full time positions ever available.
I don't know about how other home depot's work bt the one I worked at really didn't take into consideration I had 3 young kids at home and I couldn't make it in once in a while or I had to leave work early because the daycare worker couldnt handle the kids. But it didnt happen once a shift.. it happened maybe once or twice a month. That's still not that bad. But overall, good safety, good training, ok pay and good management skills.

Associate (Current Employee), Westbank, BCDecember 19, 2014
Pros: free food on special days
Cons: schedules are not ever consistent, management reprimands you in front of customers, sometimes minimal staff due to staff members off sick, management has lied in order to fire people
Co-workers are excellent but management doesn't recognize them unless they are their favourites, safety standards are usually met but not always, there are games throughout the year to create incentives, the hardest part of the job would be the lack of training and hours to train. the most enjoyable part of the job is working with fellow associates and helping the customers

Machine Operator, Freight Associate (Former Employee), Calgary, ABDecember 16, 2014
Pros: profit share
Cons: lack of management leadership!!
Management was lacking, virtually non existent.
The most enjoyable part of this job was the customer base, and other staff members. A typical day would've been filled with customer questions, stocking product, and general job orientated duties.
