VM Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Renfrew, ON27 September 2017
Holt Renfrew is a great company to work for, but was lacking in career opportunities for internal employees at the time. Overall work life balance could have been stronger and there was too much division within the head office in between various departments.
Pros
Discount, events, luxury environment
Cons
career opportunities

Management & Corporate Culture
Buyer (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON13 September 2017
Overall poor corporate culture with no work life balance. High turnover in every dept. Majority of existing management share same dictatorship style of running teams. Salary and benefits are top heavy with executives/management reaping better rewards than average employees. Favouritism and unequal treatment are common practice with too much emphasis on physical appearances to fit in within the company culture.
Pros
staff discounts
Cons
long work hours expected every day

To much politics
Assistant Store Manager/Operation Manager (Former Employee) –  London, ON7 September 2017
There is too much politics and no professionalism. Management is unprofessional , HR isnt ethical.Associates treated with no respect , promotions based on favoritism and not on qualification.

Although Holt Renfew hires a lot of great people, they care little about the average associate and focuses too much on numbers and KPI's and will dismiss associates without lending credence.

Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  Yorkdale, ON1 August 2017
Environment and management are probably worst aspects of this company. Employee turnover rate is 50% at all levels including sales to corporate. Really unpleasant overall but rewarding if you are independent and prefer retail

Personal Shopping Assistant (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON26 March 2017
With the nature of the business, everyday would be busy, making the day go by quickly. However, the company lack a strong, efficient management team. Employees did not feel supported by the leadership team, therefore people would feel either depreciated or misguided on how to perform well.
