The Assistant Quality Control Manager will assist our Quality Control Manager with day to day monitoring of Landscaping, Building Maintenance, Suite Renovations to ensure all our buildings are maintained to our high quality standards while meeting Hollyburn Environmental & Safety mandates.


  • Overseeing Quality & completion of suite renovations & building improvements
  • Assist with managing Maintenance & Landscaping Teams
  • Sourcing out products pertaining to cleaning supplies, maintenance supplies & equipment
  • Obtaining bids & pricing for contractors
  • Create Company wide data base to ensure standardization of all products & materials used
  • Assist with review of Environmental Risk Assessment
  • Interprets and analyzes key indicator reports on labour productivity, mechanical equipment, and maintenance trends;
  • Maintains and observes maintenance issues and communicates key opportunities and recommendations to improve building systems;
  • Researches maintenance trends, captures information on competitive intelligence;
  • manage the maintenance programs based on best practices, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive maintenance and code compliance;
  • Responsible for the supervision of external service contracts to ensure scope is performed and code compliance is achieved;
  • Manager programs and procedures required to ensure building safety and cleanliness;
  • Responsible for the material management system at Company Warehouse ; monitor the use and inventory of spare parts, and maintenance supplies
  • Assist with Recruitment of New Maintenance & Landscape team members
  • Ensure that Maintenance/Landscaping teams are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner;
  • Provide mentoring to the all Maintenance/Landscaping Teams, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning troubleshooting and repair as required;
  • Liaise with Resident Managers, Property Managers to ensure maximum utilization of maintenance personnel;
  • Review the operation of building equipment and systems on an ongoing basis , to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement;
  • Promote health and safety standards to ensure a healthy and safe work environment;
  • Other duties as requested by management

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years, hands on experience in a maintenance management /supervisory position
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Well rounded, diverse handyman knowledge, skills and abilities "Jack of all Trades"
  • Strong verbal communication, interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Strong Word, Excel computer skills
  • Must be able to speak, write and read text in English
  • Positive attitude, self starter, flexible, team player and solutions orientatedJob task planning and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Fast paced environment, must be able to work under pressure
  • Physically demanding - standing for long periods of time, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling and must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle
