Being a House keeper at Holiday Inn wasnt very great.
House keeping (Former Employee), Troy, IL – November 13, 2013
Pros: free breakfest
Cons: no breaks
A typical day at work started around 6 am we would get sheets ready and stock our carts for the housekeeping things we needed. I learned that working as a housekeeper you must work at a fast pace but if you work too fast you are sent back into the room to redo all of the work you have already done. My management was not good at all, they were never – more... present and we always worked on what rooms we thought needed to be cleaned, there was never a set list of rooms. My co-workers were amazing, i always get along well with others. The hardest part about my job would be not knowing which rooms to clean. The most enjoyable part of my job would be completing my job. – less

A wonderful place to work and interact with people
Front Desk Clerk (Current Employee), Terre Haute, IN – November 20, 2013
Pros: always carrying a smile and a kind word.
Cons: very short breaks and rarely a lunch break.
A typical day at Holiday Inn is busy and goes by quickly. I am able to use my customer service experience dealing with the guests on a daily basis. I love this part of my job and I learn so much from them. Our team is very team oriented and we all know that it takes every department in the building to work together and exceed the expectations of our – more... guest, they are our priority and the reason we are here. As I mentioned, the most enjoyable part of my job is dealing with our guests. Whether they compliment us on our facilty or have a complaint, we take the proper steps to ensure they are happy with their stay and we own any complaint and do whatever is necessary to make them happy. The hardest part of my job is not knowing what to do in specific situations. This is because I am still new and there is so much to learn. If faced with a situation, I want to resolve it quickly and if I do not know the answer or know the correct protocol, I will find the answer and assure guest satisfaction. – less
