A cook will work together with other kitchen staff to prepare and cook complete meals and individual items. The cook controls the pace of the food orders and his or her productivity level sets the tone for the ticket flowing process.

Key Responsibilities:

Delight our guests by providing quality and timely prepared foods
Follow sanitation guidelines
Adhere to safety procedures
Practice cost cutting measures
Pitch in and work as part of a team
Stock and rotate food
Handle equipment, appliances, small wares, supplies, and tools
Perform opening procedures
Organize and prepare for your shift
Perform operating procedures
Prepare and cook food items
Perform ongoing duties
Process and manage food tickets
Track food quality
Handle special circumstances
Communicate effectively with co workers and managers
Notify the server of completed orders
Assist in the training of new employees
Perform additional tasks as requested by your manager
Perform closing procedures
May clean kitchen and prep areas

Knowledge and Abilities
Completion of Secondary School diploma required
Completion of apprenticeship program, college or other cooking program, or several years of commercial cooking experience required
Able to lift 25 pounds
Able to stand for long periods of time
Able to understand and read English
Professional appearance and attitude
Time management skills
Good organizational skills
