HirePower Inc. is a team of Human Resources professionals who specialize in recruitment and are currently supporting our Client, a Fortune 500 Company located in Mississauga.

Our Client is seeking a well-rounded Human Resources Generalist who will be a strong team player, relationship builder and business-focused HR professional. This position works closely with the HR team to deliver exceptional customer service and support to Managers and Employees in various locations across the Country. This role reports directly to the Human Resource Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Employee Relations:
-Develop strong partnerships to act as a business partner, coach and consultant on HR issues that may arise
-Provide knowledge and assistance to managers on performance management issues including discipline and performance improvement plans

Benefits:
-Administer benefits and acting as a resource to full-time staff with questions on their coverage

Compensation:
-Participate in annual compensation surveys
-Advise Managers on various compensation and equity practices
-Participate in the administration of the annual merit process

Recruitment & Orientation:
-Participate in the recruitment & selection process for assigned client groups
-Liaise with outside recruitment vendors and analyze cost efficiency of recruitment activities
-Create and administer offer packages
-Orient all new hires

Training & Development:
-Identify training requirements within assigned client groups
-Coordinate internal and external training programs as required and planned for the year
-Maintain accurate records of all training activities
-Recommend technical and professional development courses for employees and Managers as requested

Health & Safety:
-Work with regional and branch managers to ensure a safe and healthy work environment in all locations
-Assist with workplace incident reports and liaise with local workplace insurance boards

Administration:
-Responsible for all employee payroll/benefit information inputting
-Create and administer organizational announcements
-New hire and departure process administration

Complete special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • College or University graduate with an HR specialization
  • Minimum 1-3 years of progressive HR experience in a similar environment
  • Working towards or are a CHRP
  • Bilingualism will be considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of key HR principles and experience in effective application of principles within the business context
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment, and proven project management experience
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Previous experience with Human Resources Information Systems, preferably People-At-Work HRIS
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and a team player
  • Proven communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking ability, detail oriented, organizational and prioritization skills
