This position supports the objectives of the Planning, Business Administration and the Manufacturing team. In particular, the candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining and upgrading CAD designs as required, making recommendations for tooling and equipment in the plant facility and providing modification information and other technical assistance to support all departments.


  • Create/Revise Production Change Request (PCR’s) for modifications/options based on assembly and part drawings as well as modification department input
  • Support new model change
  • Use AutoCAD and other tools to provide tooling/racking design for kaizen activities and model year revisions, as well as facility drawings for Health & Safety and general maintenance
  • Support modifications department by providing technical information from HML and local supplier specification requirements and update parts information as required.
  • Support Finance and Accounting department to provide the latest cost information for modifications
  • Coordinate activities to reduce cost for modifications among related parties (WDSK, Suppliers, HML, etc.
  • Change/Add tooling for model year changes and ergonomic improvements. This includes everything from tool research to procurement
  • Track and maintain tooling inventory (MRO)
  • Manage the maintenance and upgrade of the facility and equipment/tooling
  • Coordinate maintenance on specialized/high risk equipment. Contact contractors for scheduled equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM) or repair
  • Support product development based on customer requirements
  • Work closely with the Legal Affairs department to ensure all changes meet regulations
  • Communicate and visit suppliers regarding the development and use of parts when required
  • Support the Sales department regarding modification inquiries (feasibility and verification)
  • Perform other duties as required



  • Mechanical Engineering Technician Design diploma, or equivalent, from a recognized post secondary educational institute is required


  • Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of experience servicing and repairing trucks (preferably commercial trucks)
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Demonstrates experience in analysis and planning with ability to analyze and anticipate situations, define problems and objectives, recognize alternatives and formulate solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain business relationships/connections
  • Good understanding and knowledge of diesel
  • Good project management skills and able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
