Hines Industrial Site Services Group is now accepting applications for a full-time Financial Accountant

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time

‪Salary: Based on Experience‬

‪Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible ‬‬

‪Location: Fort McMurray, AB‬

‪Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field. Accounting Designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA). ‬ Candidates working toward an accounting designation will be considered if the candidate has the required experience.

‪Experience: 5 years +‬

‪Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English ‬‬
‪Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Windows, MacIntosh (Apple) computers, General office equipment, Electronic mail, Microsoft Office (Word/ Excel/ Power point), Simply accounting, Quick Books, Internet browser, Familiarity with ADP Payroll system an asset.‬

‪Key Responsibilities: * Experienced in full cycle accounting, dealing with multiple small businesses under one parent company. * Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting to President. Preparation of monthly operational reports. Preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements. Preparation of tax returns and other CRA tax filings. Preparation of Statistics Canada reports. Assistance with quarterly and annual reporting for various third parties.Assistance with management reporting and analysis.

  • Maintains accounting records by making copies, filing documents, responsible for Master Data Entry * Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices * Charges expenses to accounts and business units by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries * Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments * Completing employee credit card and expense claims * Maintains accounting sub-ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions, assisting Analyst with AP and AR reconciliations * Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions * Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions. * Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions from LEMs and other external sources * Manages receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; collections; and reconciliations * Making WCB payments in computer and balancing monthly statements * Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential * Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed

‪Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Must be able to adapt to a constantly growing and changing Fast-paced environment, working within tight deadlines.‬

‪Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Oral communication, Problem solving, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Finding information, Computer use, Drivers License Required.‬
