Hi-Tech Seals is currently seeking to add a motivated and energetic IT Manager to the team.

Responsibilities will include:

Align business processes with information systems technologies to achieve operating and business goals.

Develop a strategic long-range IT plan that addresses the company's growth plans.

Maintain, monitor and administer servers (Windows, DOCFOCUS, Autopoint, Intranet, Mail, IIS)

Implement, monitor and improve network infrastructure (LAN, WAN and VPN)

Oversee the development and maintenance of the company intranet and website.

Proactively suggest and implement new software, hardware and technologies to support streamline processes and support organizational objectives.

Prioritizes and assigns projects based on direction from management and knowledge of the business needs.

Develop and maintain technology policies, standards and procedures manual; develops and maintains related technology checklists.

Ensure proper security measures have been evaluated and implemented as indicated by company policy and/or best industry practices.

Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.

Develop and maintain maintenance and upgrade control system for all electronic media and systems.

Provides project management services as required for designated work efforts.

Manages network operations to include: troubleshooting connectivity problems; installing & maintaining routers; adding/terminating users; assigning rights and access; resetting passwords; establishing e-mail addresses; assessing and reporting operational status; performing backups and restores; etc.

Candidates for the position must possess the following:

2 year IT Certification or 4 year Degree in Computer Sciences and/or 5 years’ hands-on IT experience. Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability will be considered. Project management certification is desirable but not required.

Prior experience with manufacturing software would be a plus

Desktop Proficiency with Windows 7, XP and Vista

Server Proficiency with Windows 2008, Unix and IIS

Networking Proficiency with LAN, WAN, VPN and Firewalls

Programming proficiency with ASP, JavaScript, SQL

Ability to articulate business requirements into technical specifications

Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutions in a timely manner

Thorough knowledge of system development methods used for the design of new systems and enhancements to existing information systems.

A thorough knowledge of advanced concepts and operating principles of data communication and information systems hardware and software.

This position will play a key role in the delivery of cost efficient and effective technology based systems and services. The successful candidate for this position will be innovative, a self-starter and a team focused leader who can take our IT Department to the next level. This position is located in the head office in Edmonton, Alberta.
