Our client is an international genetic testing company offering hundreds of new and specialized genetic tests for rarer diseases to hospitals, healthcare centers, and physicians. You would have the intricate knowledge required to serve as an informative educator when calling on these customers, In addition, as most of these tests are not part of standard provincial billing at present, education of stakeholders on preauthorization for OOC (out of country) billing/reimbursement would be part of the mandate of this position. It would also be necessary to network with Canadian provincial health ministers in order to clear up any issues related to billing for these products.
Sales calls/visits to pertinent physician specialists, including geneticists, laboratories, and genetic counselors to familiarize them with the available tests, methodologies, and diagnostic advantages, pricing.
Most of these tests will be performed in the US - under the Out of Country umbrella.
Informing stakeholders of reimbursement hurdles, policies, availability for each test.
Sales, client retention, new client development.
Set up sales cycle of 5 to 6 physicians and 2 to 3 laboratories per day, keeping track of progress.
Ensure that you are aware of logistics of sample handling from start to finish in all settings.
Main territory Western Canada.
~ 40% overnight travel.
B.S. / B.Sc. in molecular biology/ genetics/ genetic counselling/ business.
Min 2 years in related position selling in a medical field or B2B.
Background selling genetic testing services or diagnostic testing services of great interest.
Background as genetic counselor of great interest.
Proven ability/willingness to interact with and educate clinicians/ other medical/laboratory stakeholders.
Able to travel.
Excellent English, interpersonal, presentation, communication, negotiation skills.
Able to keep records of activities and keep regional manager informed of progress and success.
Self starter, providing solutions.
