Pros: decent medical benefits, will allow and pay for outside training, the opportunity to mentor the served population
Cons: 5 sick days per year, salary, no opportunity for advancement.
High turnover with front line management and staff in the division where I work. There is no orientation for new employees, there is no uniformity in personnel practices, there is no performance feedback prior to annual review thus no opportunity to improve perceived performance, no team work, no consistent communication. Could be more proactive in focus – more... or attention to sustained outcomes for the population served. The organization has a career progression process in place which is not utilized at all even when inquired about. The most enjoyable part of this job is the opportunity to work with the population served and the personal feedback they provide as well as the evidence of their progression as a result of my training and encouragement of them. – less
