Sudbury is home to Health Sciences North (HSN), a regional resource and referral centre for over 600,000 residents across northeastern Ontario, features state-of-the-art technology and has 17 surgical operating rooms, over 3,900 employees, 800 volunteers, and a medical, dental, and midwifery complement of 260. The HSN has become a Research and Academic Health Science Centre affiliated with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, with an active Interprofessional Placement Coordination Service which facilitates frequent Rehabilitation Student Placements from many Ontario based Schools of Rehabilitation Sciences.

HSN is seeking a Director, Human Resources to be responsible for the overall operations of the Human Resources Department and its associated programs and functions in support of corporate goals and objectives. This will be accomplished by conducting short- and long-term planning efforts, designing HR programs, and overseeing the development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures. The Director, Human Resources shall also manage budgets and engage the organization in achieving its hospital and people objectives. The position requires a broad generalist background and knowledge of organizational development theories and practices.

The successful candidate will have a university degree in Business Administration or equivalent formal academic preparation with a Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years’ direct experience as a senior Human Resources professional, with at least five (5) years as an Human Resources generalist in a multi-disciplined environment and CHRP designation in good standing.
