Role Summary:
Our client is seeking a Technical recruiter to be responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the organization. This individual must employ traditional sourcing strategies as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas.
They must manage the end-to-end recruitment cycle for the organization, develop a talent pipeline and work with the business leaders to establish staffing requirements. The Recruiter will work with the HR Manager to review all recruitment related policies and procedures and play a critical role in ensuring that they are hiring the best possible talent.

Specific Duties:

  • Provide professional support and advice on recruitment to departmental managers/team leads and advise on best practice recruitment and selection.
  • Prepare job descriptions, decide how and where jobs will be posted, work on creative solutions to recruitment, especially if it is proving to be problematic.
  • Screen applications, shortlist applicants, devise and implement selection processes, conduct interviews.
  • Advise on recruitment methods
  • Stay abreast of market practices and trends
  • Be the recruitment subject matter expert for all areas of the business that you recruit for
  • Prepare candidates for interviews by providing detailed information on the company, hiring manager, department background, role profile, and expectation setting (timeframe, interview agenda)
  • Organize, lead and document post-interview debrief/feedback with interview teams and candidates.
  • Review and discuss the hiring manager’s interview feedback for each candidate and take appropriate action(coordinate offer, regret correspondence, etc.)
  • Manage the presentation, selection, offer, closing, and administrative components involved in full lifecycle recruiting
  • Conduct follow-up calls and initiate quality improvement discussions with hiring managers and new hires
  • Participate in the development of ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies (i.e. career fairs etc.)
  • Develop an effective pipeline of key talent potentially available for immediate hire as succession planning needs dictate
  • Stay informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in best recruiting practices
  • Effectively promote career opportunities by demonstrating a passion for it’s culture and community
  • Creatively source high calibre candidates by maximizing internet resources, direct calling, employee referrals, and other resource tools.
  • Track analytical data regarding all facets of the hiring process, to include sourcing effectiveness, offer rate, accept rate, and other analysis as needed
  • Negotiate compensation packages
  • Manage Agency relationships and candidates
  • Negotiate with service providers ie Monster, Workopolis, 3rd party agencies


  • MUST possess Computer Science Degree
  • Dynamic, creative, high energy individual with a extensive experience in full lifecycle recruitment
  • 7+ years recruitment experience in a corporate environment
  • Mixture of both corporate and agency experience in recruiting
  • Demonstrated experience working with an ATS
  • Ability to manage competing demands while remaining adaptable and flexible
  • Ability to cultivate meaningful relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams while remaining decisive and displaying sound judgment
  • A positive, can do, walk the extra mile attitude is key to fit in the team
  • Experience in the financial or technology sectors would be a definite asset
  • An independent, self-directed individual who is not afraid to make decisions to develop, execute and deliver on an assigned strategy
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills combined with the ability to grasp complex concepts quickly, identify key messaging for different audiences and work with a team to weave these into compelling communications pieces
  • A critical thinker with a demonstrated ability to manage projects, develop workflows, project plans and delegate accordingly to ensure projects meet the agreed upon deadlines
  • Positive attitude, flexible nature, thriving in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • A highly detailed individual with the ability to multitask and execute with precision
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines while managing multiple projects
  • Ability to cultivate meaningful relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams while remaining decisive and displaying sound judgment
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Solid analytical, quantitative, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills

Technical Recruiter Specific
The Technical Recruiter must:

  • Have experience conducting technical pre screen interviews involving algorithms, coding knowledge in different languages and technical proficiency
  • Keep up to date on current programming languages and technologies used in an engineering driven organization
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and the wants/needs of the local programming community (ie: what excites engineers)
