Uninformed with Client Requirements
Plant (Former Employee), HamiltonFebruary 12, 2014
Pros: temp to perm
Cons: no info
They offered a great posting however had no idea of the hours and need for transportation.
When my attempts to make arrangements to accomodate client requirements that they had no idea of called me unprofessional and refused to deal further with me. Look for a reputable temp agency who talks to the client.

Finance Recruiting Calgary
Contractor- accounting (Former Employee), CalgaryApril 26, 2013
Pros: not much- great website
Cons: very unprofessional
They don't even bother to return my calls or emails on leads. They have such poor attitude ... unprofessional bunch. When you get through to them to ask questions, it's like you are bothering them. Worst experience working with recruiters in the Calgary market. I guess it depends also on the recruiters, the ones I dealt with previously were good, not – more... the current ones. Stay away if you can... – less

Terrible
no job (Former Employee), BirminghamOctober 1, 2014
Pros: no pros
Cons: lack people skills, waste of time
HAYS are the worst recruitment agency. They put you forward for jobs, waste your time by making you come in to register and never get back to you with feedback as to why you haven't been selected despite the number of calls/emails you put in. Once I was busy so I requested for the recruitment lady to email me details of a job and she never did. Another – more... time I was told I was perfect for a job and had an excellent chance to get it but the recruiter didn't get back to me again despite my calls and emails. The people who recruit for legal jobs seem to lack skills. I will not be applying for jobs though Hays again and I recommend others to do the same. – less

Good job most of the time
Labourer (Former Employee), ManchesterSeptember 24, 2014
Pros: good overtime / working with friends
Cons: getting stuck in traffic on the way home
My day starts by finding out what the priority is work wise from the site manager i.e floor 5 needs preparing for floor layers or the tilers need x amount of tiles on floor 2. I enjoy the job because each day is different from the last and i also like the fact that the management treat you well and as long as you do your work and do what is asked they – more... just leave you to do your work. I have a good working relationship with my bosses because they can give me a job and trust me to get the job done. I am also lucky enough to be working with a great team of labourers we all pull together to get the job done and if someone is not pulling there weight they are quickly told. The hardest part of the job is probably the heavy lifting when we have to use the stairs and not the lift but if thats what it takes to get the job done then so be it, the best part of the job is having a laugh and a joke with the other labourers and the tradesmen who i also have a good relationship with. – less

Operational Support Group Escort (Former Employee), Lincoln, ENGJuly 31, 2014
Pros: not having to pay for my uniform
Cons: having to work in the winter outside
Sitting around watching contractors work and looking out for prisoners who were on litter duty outside. To be tolerant. The management were always there to help you. You relied on your workmates in an emergency. Dealing with abuse from the prisoners. Having a laugh during meal breaks with my co-workers

Prison Operational Support Grade (Current Employee), Sheerness, ENGJuly 1, 2014
Pros: self satisfaction and learning new things every day
Cons: none really
My day start with the computer, downloading the days visit list and preparing it in the order needed.
I work as part of a friendly team, and the managers are always at hand to answer any questions or worries.
I am still learning different aspects of this job, and love that no two days are ever the same, and theres no greater feeling than when you have – more... put someones mind at rest and they go away feeling reassured.
The hardest part of the job is when someone has turned up without a booked visit and i have to turn them away, i explain the situation to them of why they can not visit and what they should have done, and what they need to do for future visits. – less

Cashiers Supervisor (Former Employee), New Malden, ENGJune 18, 2014
Pros: great staff and working environment
Cons: appraisals not done
A typical day would start with downloading the previous and current days' financial data from the bankline system BIB (Barclays Internet Banking) into a CSV file, checking for anomalies before uploading it into the JD Edwards accountancy system. I did the Aged Debt report and sent it to Credit Control Managers and Supervisors so that they could help – more... us to reduce the list of outstanding receipts. Sometimes, I did cash forecasting. Then I set about reconciling all the bank accounts. I then resolve queries, liaising with Credit Control, Financial Accounts, Barclays Bank and Accounts Payable to do so. Once I was done with that, I did some cash allocation. I usually allocated around 200-250 remittances daily. I liaised with Credit Control to resolve queries.

I greatly enjoyed liaising with other people and solving queries relating to the Bank Reconciliations and Sales Ledger. I also enjoyed working in a team working towards a common goal of having as little outstanding receipts as possible every month. My managers would take notice of the fact that I took a lot of pride in my work. For example, I once raised my hands in triumph after solving a tricky problem and my manager called me in to tell me they really liked that attitude. – less

Contractor (Frame Engineer) (Former Employee), StaffordshireJune 3, 2014
Cons: long hours
This was a temporary work. The work was flexible such as days and night depending on the availability of the agency. For this position, I was installing the telephone cable in the BT Exchange such as Frame Jumpering. I did learned about connecting customer phone line and testing the tone to ensure connections are accessible. My co-workers were friendly – more... and works were completed on time and successfully. The most enjoyable part of the job was soldering and testing the ring tone. – less
