Our client, one of Toronto’s most profitable high rise and condominium property development companies, is looking to hire a Property Accountant for a 6 month contract position, with the possibility of going permanent.
The Property Accountant will insure the timely compilation and maintenance of accounting data to meet reporting deadlines. The candidate will also prepare GST/PST remittances, prepare bank reconciliations and monthly journals, as well as assist with analysis of monthly operating variances and account analysis. A background with cash flow projections is required, as well as working experience with creating monthly reports and distribution cash flows to owners. The Property Accountant will also prepare year end cost statements, assist in final billings of tenants and prepare annual audited financial statements and operating cost statements. The Property Accountant will liaise with auditors and prepare various accounting reports with analytical processing. The candidate will also assist with tax and annual budget preparation.
The right candidate will possess a college diploma or university degree, be enrolled in CMA/CGA level 3, and have two years of financial accounting experience. The company is looking for someone with great interpersonal skills and a solid understanding of the real estate industry. Accounting systems include JD Edwards, Excel, Yardi and Outlook.
