Hawkeye Industries Inc. is an Edmonton, Alberta based manufacturer of oilfield products and we are looking for a highly motivated, self starter for our Jr. Design and Production Engineer position. We have a proven history of product excellence in tank level indication, vapour control, polyethylene fabrication and downhole production equipment. - BSc in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering is an asset or an Engineer in Training; equivalencies may be considered
- Experience in manufacturing is an asset with knowledge in API and CSA standards for oil tank, pipeline and wellhead products
- Proficient computer skills is required and experience with 2D Autocad and 3D Autodesk Inventor is an asset
- Ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines and problem solve
- Proficient understanding and use of the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and be highly motivated
- Ability to work individual and as team
- Attention to detail is required
- Must be a Canadian Citizen


- Produce design including research, conceptual/alternative designs, prototyping, testing, initial material sourcing, cost analysis, internal and consumer documentation, production drawings, and product support
- Working with Polyethylene fitting, transition fittings, pressure activated plugs, rod shears, sealed and unseals level gauges, urethane tubing centralizers, polyethylene molded floats, storage tank pressure relief valves, welded components, optimization design changes, and custom or one-off design modifications (ie, stainless and anti-freeze applications)
- Failure analysis
- Product testing including test demonstrations with customers
- Creation and revision of technical documents
- Creating and presenting product education seminars
- Assisting with the OH&S program
- Involved in the patenting process
