When I worked at Harvey's, a typical day included cooking, cleaning, stocking, handling cash, and delivering great customer service. As a night shift supervisor, my duties included supervising employees, expediting, cleaning, closing the store, and balancing the cash tills.

GENERAL MANAGER (Former Employee), Toronto, ONFebruary 14, 2014
A typical day would be fast pace and fun with my team.
I learned alot about people and their lives day to day traveling thru a train station.
My management were some of the hardest working people I've worked with. My co-workers were young and hard working as well.
The hardest part of the job was to try and make every guest enjoy their experience in – more... our restaurant.
The most enjoyable part of the job was compliments after they have finished their meal.Praising my staff always puts a smile on everyone's faces. – less

Manager (Former Employee), North york ONOctober 30, 2013
a typical day at Harvey's restaurant would be serving gussets managing the floor, punting people in to the correct position for the day. i gained a lot of customer service experience in this place. the hardest part of my job was be able to very fair to my co-workers because it was a very busy location it was really hard to give out breaks when i was – more... already short on staff but i believe i did very well in that part. and the most enjoyable part of the job was when i was helping guests, which made feel like i can help others and add a little smile or even make their day easier or better – less

Job was par time while i waited to go to school
Customer Service (Former Employee), Barton StreetMay 6, 2013
Pros: flexible hours
Cons: bad manament
This job was part- time while i waited to go to school. It consisted of working drive through, putting condiments on the burger and cashing customers out. The management was disorganized and inefficient and did not respect the needs of the other employees. The best part of the job was working with people.

friendly work environment, very clean and very organized
Greeting and assisting customers (Former Employee), Oshawa,ONApril 24, 2013
Pros: cheaper meals, kind customers and co-workers
A typical day at work would be very organized, very clean, when the workplace would get busy we would all work together and not get aggravated. The managers were very consistent with making sure we'd have everything perfectly hygienic. I learned how to work in a busy environment, with customers of all sorts. Clean and sanitize the restaurant top to – more... bottom. Handle cash, debit and credit. My co workers and managers were very supportive and understanding. Always making sure tasks were completed. The hardest part of the job would honestly be all of the cleaning that had to be done, which was very important but very tiring. Of course I'd have no problem doing it again. The most enjoyable part was getting to serve the customers and the kind comments from them. It made me realize I like that type of work environment. – less

Reasonably good place to work.
Cashier, Garnish, Cook (Current Employee), Chatham-Kent, ONMarch 23, 2013
Pros: 50% off meals for crew, 100% off meals for supervisors.
You have to be able to handle stress to work here!
The work is not hard, I enjoy cooking and drive thru.
Be prepared to work quickly and efficiently.
It helps if you are strong as there are heavy stock boxes that need lifting from time to time.
One thing you will learn hear is patience.
It is good to have people skills.
I don't think there is any hard – more... or easy parts to this job. It simply is what it is, and is mostly straight forward.
Organization is very helpful. – less

About Harveys Restaurant
Kitchen Staff (Former Employee), London, ONFebruary 18, 2013
Pros: %20 discount on food
Cons: rude customers
I had worked there for around 5 years from the year 2006-2011 and I have worked in every position there that includes cashier, garnish startions, drive thru, and my strongest area grill and fryers!! I would always 5-close at night sometimes I would work a day shift if I needed to!! I learned how to work with others and get strongest as an employee. – more... Management was fairly good there were some managers there that arent exactly my favorite but there were ones that I got along with perfectly fine! My co-workers were basically the same as management most of them I got along with a few of them I never had the greatest with! The hardest part of the job was working through rush hours especially when your low on staff. My most enjoyable part of the job was closing, so then once we're closed then we're closed and we can get the rest of our stuff done! – less
