Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 30 May 2017
Depending on the location management can be really great at their job or really terrible and not care about the associates. The pay for part time CSRs is awful considering how much work we really do. I have also had bad experiences with my direct manager just not knowing how to handle her own responsibilities or how to be a team leader. You would think an adult knows how to solve problems without acting like a petty child, but nope, not at Harry Rosen. The sales associates also ONLY work on commission, no hourly involved. The only good thing about this company is that if you would like to move up to the office and you have the right qualifications it is possible as most central office jobs are posted internally. Other than that, there are better high end retailers who treat and compensate their associates a lot better than Harry Rosen does.
Sales Associate (Former Employee) – Edmonton, AB – 30 May 2017
Don't go on sick leave, they'll fire you while you're sick and claim you abandoned your job. Great pay and benefits though. The top producers do what they want, scoop your sales, you name it. If you bring it up to management they will tell you to worry about yourself and continue to let it happen.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) – Yorkdale, ON – 29 May 2017
I worked there for almost two years as a cashier. The management team will never be on your side or help you out. Your own manager doesn't stick up for you. Constantly getting in trouble for things that are not your fault or even your job.
Sales Associate (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 11 February 2017
They work you so hard and they do not pay enough to there employees, only care about upper management and they give compensation and bonuses to them and never any to the remaining staff. lack of empathy
Administrative Customer Service (Former Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 10 February 2017
The company is great to work for, the employees are well taken care of and all treated equally. Everyone works together as a team and management is always willing to help with any problems that may occur.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 29 December 2016
I found the sales associates to be very negative and not always have the customers best interest in mind. There were little reprimands to sales associates who interacted poorly with customer service representatives. People in the CSR position work very hard and do not get paid well.
Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 20 November 2015
it was fun to work with the people I do at Harry Rosen. We are like a family. The management team needs help. They dont know make you feel appreciated or make you want to work for them. They need a serious reconstruction done in the Admin team.
Admin Clerk (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 2 November 2015
Awesome colleagues, great benefit and fun place to work. I learned alot and glad to have worked there. Its an upscale men's clothing store which gave me more insight on men's fashion and improved my style skills
productive place with a fast pace work environment
Sales Associate (Current Employee) – Yorkdale mall, Toronto ON – 18 September 2015
Great company to work for, organized and well structured, very employee-friendly. Hours and schedules are planned in a friendly and respectful manner to accommodate personal preferences of each employee. Management communicates with staff on a daily basis, addressing all the potential problems and miscommunications. A very clean, safe, well equipped working space.
Administrator (Former Employee) – Ottawa, ON – 2 August 2015
start shift with a positive attitude everyone is happy and respectful . Management respects, understands and trusts the associates.co-workers are all friendly and nice to one another. As an adminstrator i learned to handle invoices, cash balances, morning reports, transfer daily and weekly sales and open/closed store on holidays. Hardest part of the jobs during christmas is when it gets super busy however with the positive environment we handled it well. The most enjoyable part is the respect that is given to us by the managers and employees and working together as on.
Stock Associate (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 29 October 2014
Learned a great amount of experience in the high end retail sector however, a lack of management and training is a result of associates stagnant in their positions with desires to excel in other positions within the company.
Visual Merchandiser (Former Employee) – Vancouver, BC – 1 October 2014
it was a temporary position over the holidays. Everyone is nice but highly competitive with each other and sales oriented, forgetting about the style of the clients. The visual team was working closely with each other, good experience over all.
Administration (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 7 August 2014
The staff is very friendly and the benefits and discounts are great, however you are constantly being talked down by the sales associates and customers. Its a cut throat environment and barely anyone in admin ever gets a promotion.
