HALTERM opened the first container terminal in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1969, and is one of the first terminals on North America's East Coast. Built at a cost of $15 million, HALTERM was an investment in the door-to-door movement of general cargo.
Over the years, Halterm has developed into one of the first common-user facilities in North America, and has since become a cornerstone of the Port of Halifax. With over 40 years of experience and state of the art equipment, HALTERM is recognized as one of the most cost-effective cargo-handling facilities on the Atlantic Seaboard. – less
