Exciting full-time opportunity to manage a mid-size depanneur located in a newly built truck stop plaza located on the South Shore 5 minutes from the Mercier Bridge
The ideal candidate will exude professionalism and demonstrate an "ownership mentality" along with a keen sense of sales, marketing and "bottom-line" profits. Successful candidates should be able to cite significant achievements, demonstrating their ability to handle all aspects of retail operational and merchandising management issues, from the delivery of stock to the store to the final sale of the product to the customer. This individual will be responsible for operational excellence, optimizing staff performance, ensuring customer satisfaction, maximizing revenues and delivering front line contribution.
Recruit, hire, train and evaluate store employees
Develop and implement employee performance evaluations and improvement plans and effectively manage employees
Provide exceptional customer service and ensure that employees provide the same level of service
Communicate, execute and manage marketing and merchandising programs
Conduct regular store meetings
Maintain adequate store supplies through efficient inventory management
Execute and monitor loss prevention and shrink programs
Management of all store operational issues which include store housekeeping, store administrative duties, physical inventories, price changes and relationships with suppliers.
Performs/completes other additional related duties as requied and/or by request of direct supervisor
Sales and/or business planning, including development of budgets and targets
Produces weekly sales and productivity analysis reports
Reviews all store controllable costs daily and takes action on all negative variances
Maximizes store front line contribution by driving sales and controlling expenses and resources
Monitors traffic report to identify opportunities by shifts and develops work schedules accordingly
Plans and manages specials events to drive top line sales
Operates administrative systems, including point of sales (SIR preferable), MS Word, Excel & Access to ensure reporting and communication requirements
Strong organizational, time management skills and "business sense"
Business acumen and financial planning, including the ability to understand profit and loss statements
Knowledge of staffing and scheduling systems
Knowledge of recruiting and selection practices including behavioral interviewing techniques
Management skills,including real-time task direction & follow up, planning, organizing and resource leveraging to accomplish self-initiated objectives
People skills, including leading, motivating, communicating, coaching, feedback, performance management and succession planning
Retail practices, including merchandising, proportionate display, visual appeal, market awareness and opportunity development
Working knowledge of business operating and administrative systems such as POS, inventory management systems including purchase orders,
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office
Minimum 5-7 years direct retail food industry or related experience
Transportation a must
