Title: National Sales Representative (Outdoor Consumer products)
Location: Scarborough, Ontario (after 6 months option to work from home)
Duration: Permanent
Compensation: Around 100k/yr OTE


$300 million+ dollar US headquartered, consumer products manufacturer selling to mass retail channels in North America is seeking a motivated, energetic Toronto-based National Sales Representative. Must be able to demonstrate a successful sales track record exhibiting growth in sales and profit, and also an ability to open new accounts, grow existing business and work effectively with sales rep agencies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing new business within major retail channels in Canada
  • Assist in preparing quotations, preparing customer presentations and sales analysis
  • Attending, and at times leading meetings with target Canadian retailers
  • Working with the VP of Global Business Development to establish forecasts and customer growth plans
  • Become subject matter expert in the Canadian market within target product categories
  • Ensure that product information is updated in customer systems in a timely manor, and the full quote process is managed effectively
  • Coordinate the receipt, storage and preparation of samples used for quoting Canadian customers
  • Work with factories where needed to develop customer specific product offerings for customer reviews


MUST HAVE experience in selling any of the following:

  • Outdoor gas and BBQ grills and smokers, hand-held lighting, camping equipment, or solar lighting
  • 3+ years in a field sales role in consumer products with experience in selling to large retailers (i.e., Canadian Tire, Loblaws, WalMart, Rona, Home Depot, Lowes, Costco, etc.)
  • Experience working directly with factories in Asia, a plus
  • “Hunter” mentality with exceptional organizational skills
  • High motivation and self starter skills a must
  • Bilingualism (French English) and superior verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge and utilization of sales management software tools, a plus
  • Travel necessary
  • Degree preferred
