Gryphon's Private Investigations Division will be responsible for the following investigation services.
Background checks/investigations on persons, groups or companies. This can include such things as identity, habits, conduct, honesty, trustworthiness and reputation
Credibility and integrity of witnesses or other persons
Location of missing persons; determination and location of owners of abandoned property and heirs to estates
Location of people wanted for a crime or for a delinquent debt (this has come to be known as tracing/skip tracing)
Location, disposition or recovery of lost, stolen, unclaimed or abandoned property
Cause or responsibility for fires, losses, libels, frauds, accidents, damages or injuries to persons or property
Evidence to be used in a court for trial, or by any board or investigating body
Threats of violence against individuals or property
Connections between people, organizations and companies
Conduct, activities, honesty and loyalty of employees
Detection and prevention of fraud and theft
Truth or falsity of statements and representations
Detection of deception
Ways to carry out the job of an investigator include, but are not limited to:
Surveillance work (such as a Loss Prevention who may watch customers in a store, to see if shoplifting is occurring).
Making phone calls to employers, neighbors, friends, family or associates of a person to gather information for a background check.
Doing research in computer data bases and search engines to locate information regarding the subject of the investigation.
Researching physical, non-computerized records
Collecting evidence to help further the investigation, to present in court or to provide to client for whom the investigation is being conducted.
