We are currently recruiting for the role of Inside Sales Manager to join our team in South Surrey, BC. The role of the Inside Sales Manager is to develop and grow the New Business Development (NBD) team. This includes coaching, managing, and mentoring the team and overseeing the day-to-day operations.

The New Business Development team is a marketing team that calls prospects and customers to identify sales opportunities and book sales appointments with them for a presentation on GroupHEALTH products and services. The goal is to book high quality appointments that lead to a sale.


Within the first 3 months:

  • Hire, train, and develop team of “A” player marketing specialists for the Surrey NBD centre, with goal of being online in early Q1 2014
  • Transition operations from Ontario centre to Surrey centre
  • Develop and implement specific quotas for booking quality appointments, and compensation plans for NBD team
  • Assist with updating New Business Development program for the Advisor Partner network
  • Roll out new program to Advisor Partner network
  • Develop and roll out templates and processes for new marketing programs
  • Implement quality control and monitoring tools and processes
  • Develop Key Performance Metrics and report regularly to executive

Within the first 6 months:

  • Identify partners for participation in NBD program
  • Develop and roll out NBD training program for partners
  • Develop quarterly business plans and sales forecasts
  • Develop and implement plans to continuously increase overall number of booked appointments and improve quality of appointments as measured by increased percentage of appointments that result in sales.
  • Develop marketing plans and programs in conjunctions with sales and marketing to identify target campaigns. Execute on plans.
  • Demonstrate effective management of NBD program with Advisor partner network. Includes training partners on NBD program, enforcing policies and procedures with partners, measuring partner effectiveness, and managing appointment allocation process.

Within the first 12 months:

  • Demonstrate significant improvement in overall performance of NBD program and partner network. Improvements measured in terms of increased sales.
  • Demonstrate significant improvements in quality and productivity for the department
  • Attain breakeven status on operational costs

In addition to joining a team that is focused on delivering the “WOW!” factor daily (while enjoying weekly yoga stretches, lunchtime walks, and lots of cake!), your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and leading a high performance inside sales team
  • Meeting and exceeding specific target quotas
  • Managing NBD program with Advisor Partners
  • Managing all day to day aspects of sale center operations
  • Managing customer and partner escalations
  • Monitoring and reporting Key Performance Indicators
  • Develop and execute annual and quarterly business plans
  • Develop and execute Sales and marketing program; includes development of scripts and training programs
  • Implement best of class sales processes using CRM and other tools.
  • Personnel training and development
  • Process development and improvement
  • Policy and procedure development
  • Performance and quality monitoring and improvement
  • Understand the business systems well enough to manage workflows, reports, and processes.
  • Work closely with other interdependent organizations (i.e Sales and Marketing)

Must Haves
1) Extensive Sales management experience in outbound call centre
2) Strong understanding of sales systems and processes. Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and/or Sales Force Automation (SFA) systems
3) Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage conflict and difficult communications

Education & Experience

  • Understanding of call center best practices is a requirement of the role
  • 5 – 7 years managing inside sales/telesales department is a requirement of the role
  • Extensive experience with CRM and Sales Force automation tools (ideally Microsoft CRM) is a requirement
  • Post secondary education in Business, Commerce, etc. is an asset
  • Experience in group benefits industry is an asset
