Position: Shipper/Receiver
Status: Full Time
Reports To: District Supervisor


  • Accountable for all shipping/receiving activities including customer service
  • Handle all incoming / outgoing shipments
  • Input transaction into database receiving records
  • Prepare receiving documents including count, damaged items, date/signature
  • Report items missing or damaged, initiate trace of lost items and advise client within 24 hours
  • Ensure all goods are appropriately packaged for shipping
  • Dispatch transportation carriers for same day/local shipments
  • Maintain accurate records for all items
  • Obtain all appropriate signatures required for shipment and pick up
  • Follow security guidelines with regards to building access
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed, report hazardous spills
  • Maintain shipping supplies
  • General housekeeping
  • Prepare monthly shipping statistics
  • Other duties as required


  • Assist with loading/unloading of transportation vehicles using dock power equipment (if applicable to site)
  • Stack, steel band, and shrink-wrap large shipments onto skids (if applicable to site)
  • Ability to lift 40-50 pounds regularly

  • Dust


  • Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel) Lotus Notes, Internet and Email
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • WHMIS and safety awareness
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Completion of secondary school
  • Knowledge and experience using UPS and Purolator Shipping systems - an asset
