Job Title: Production Co-ordinator/Direct Mail Specialist
Status: Full-Time
Location: Markham, ON

Responsibilities:

Production Co-ordinator:

  • Work with clients/sites on print and direct mail projects and price/estimate associated costs
  • Project management of multiple, concurrent projects through partnering with clients and internal cross functional teams.
  • Verify all quantities, specifications, delivery information, etc. regarding outsourced and digital print jobs
  • Prepare and issue vendor purchase order(s) based on quoted or pre-established rate cards
  • Coordinate graphic design requirements with in-house designer and verify that the graphic file is print ready with pre-press
  • Ensure the final print file is set up according to the production method (ex. spot colour/CMYK)
  • If FSC paper is to be used, follow documented FSC processes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Workflow Co-ordinator:

  • While managing the life cycle of each project, co-ordinate with internal teams to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met
  • Assist in production planning and shift scheduling for the print centre
  • Create production timelines to track and develop strategies for distribution of print and direct mail
  • Execute and manage direct marketing plans in accordance with clients’ budgetary allocations
  • Ensure content of print productions meet Copyright guidelines
  • Ensure Health & Safety policies and procedures are implemented and followed

Client Relations:

  • Lead and cultivate key account relationships
  • Follow up and resolve any vendor issues
  • Subscribe to industry publications to remain current on trends and developments
  • Interact with vendor pools to raise personal knowledge and expertise

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in an Offset/Commercial Print environment and overseeing Letter shop services and direct mail
  • Experience with IGen4 Setup and operations is considered to be an asset
  • Understanding of Lettershop Creative and data processing requirements for variable messaging
  • Post-Secondary Education in a related field
  • Strong project management experience
  • Experience with direct marketing campaigns
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Possess the ability to make decisions and resolve problems across all stages of direct mail production
  • Ability to thrive under pressure
  • Ability to recognize different paper types
  • Experience with inventory control is considered to be an asset
