(Contractual Position from August 26, 2013 to November 15, 2013)

Working under the auspices of the I Love Grenfell Executive and reporting to the Marketing & Special Events Coordinator, the I Love Grenfell coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all I Love Grenfell 2013 events at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University. I Love Grenfell is associated with I Love MUNdays. Duties include establishing and working with the I Love Grenfell committee and sub-committees; developing and coordinating a marketing plan for all I Love Grenfell events; maintaining the I Love Grenfell web site and social media; coordinating and recruiting volunteers and student staff; scheduling and planning I Love Grenfell events; coordinating facilities; budgeting; overseeing expenditures and coordinating event logistics; acting as the official liaison between the two campus committees, I Love Grenfell and I Love MUNdays; advising on programming initiatives that meet the goals of the program and providing leadership in the development of the I Love Grenfell initiative. At the end of the contract, the coordinator must prepare a report on I Love Grenfell 2013. Flexible hours will be expected.

Experience (1-3 years) in special event management; graduation with a university degree work in business, marketing, public relations, or related discipline; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Effective organizational, planning and creativity skills, as well as excellent communication skills are essential. Knowledge of computer and software, including MS Word, MS Excel and Front Page is required. A valid driver's license is also required.

SALARY: $40,534 to $56,841 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
