GBN EPR was recently awarded the contract (for four years + 2 one year extensions) for the post-collection services for PPP in the Province of BC by Multi-Material British Columbia (“MMBC”). This will involve collecting materials from depots across BC and processing the collected curbside materials from Single Family and Multi-Family Dwellings, across each of ten geographic zones within the province of BC. It is expected that GBN will manage the movement of approximately 185,000 metric tons per year of recycled materials from across the province.
As a result of being awarded this contract, GBN EPR is currently looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to join our team to support the mandate of GBN EPR to collect materials from locations across BC. Reporting to the Vice President, Logistics this position will be responsible for all aspects of the planning, development, implementation and ongoing management of the logistics required to meet the requirements of the MMBC contract. The objective will be to create and sustain an efficient and cost effective logistics network, using third party contractors, for the collection of materials from the various depot locations in the Province.
The successful candidate will possess related education and/or training (or equivalent industry experience) in transportation and logistics and have worked at least five to seven years in a senior logistics role, ideally involving multi classification, multi-modal networks. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience in the use of relevant support software, have strong communications and negotiation skills, be able to work independently and as a team player and have an excellent knowledge of the existing third party BC transportation grid. Exposure to the recycling and recovery industry and its transportation requirements would be a definite asset.
