Summary:

The Coordinator, Driver Services and Compliance position’s focus is to provide support to the Manager, to develop, maintain and evaluate the Company’s driver and owner operator pool. This position will work closely with Dispatcher and Traffic functions of the organization to ensure there are adequate and satisfactory driver resources to accomplish the Company’s goals. The Coordinator will aid in safety initiatives and investigations.

Job Duties

  • Assist the Manager, Driver Services and Compliance to recruit, develop, maintain and evaluate the Company’s driver and owner operator pool
  • Review Driver payroll
  • Record and report on attendance
  • Work with Traffic Department to review daily and weekly work schedule
  • Confer with designated Graphic team members and/or supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment
  • Maintains manual and electronic documents, files and records for the purpose of documenting activities and/or providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail
  • Participates in meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions
  • Prepares a variety of documents and reports for the purpose of providing information and/or training materials to Professional Drivers, other personnel and outside agencies as required by established polices and/or regulatory guidelines
  • Aid with incident investigations
  • Review driver trip sheets, logs and other documents for accuracy, completeness legal compliance
  • Addresses and escalates safety issues in prompt fashion
  • Coordinate with Agencies to develop backup pool of qualified drivers

Requirements

  • Knowledge of computerized information systems and applications to include personal computers, general software applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook), and keyboard facility
  • Strong knowledge of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario
  • Experience with TMW’s (Maddocks) TruckMate system is an asset
  • Demonstrated aptitude and desire to apply skills to analyze and solve business problems
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Professional / mature demeanour under stressful situations
  • Confident, consistent decisive personality
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work of the Driver Services & Compliance department
  • Confident and decisive
  • Strong ability in conflict resolution
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • French speaking is an asset
  • University degree or equivalent educational / work experience

Work Conditions

  • Some travel required
  • Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Monday to Friday Varied shifts
  • Available after hours through company supplied communication devises
