Gracious Living Innovations is based in Mississauga and is a leading Canadian Manufacturer of Extruded Plastic Components. We are currently seeking a Tool and Die Maker who is career oriented and can demonstrate the ability to grow within our organization.
Skills include:
Minimum 3-5 years experience as a Tool & Die Maker
Tool & Die certificate preferred
Knowledge of manufacturing equipment & processes, preferably plastics related
Knowledge of understanding of raw materials and chemicals
Ability to read, comprehend and interpret technical drawings
Knowledge of metal working equipment; mill, lathe, surface grinding, band and chop saws
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software (solidworks, mechanical desktop mastercam, Flow 2000) and drafting standards
Ability to successfully perform duties accurately and efficiently, detail oriented
Responsibilities include:
Read and interpret drawings and specifications of tools, dies, prototypes or models
Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools
Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for manufacturing
Operate a variety of machine tools to cut, turn, mill, plane, bore, grind or otherwise shape
work piece to prescribed dimensions and finish
Verify machine parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
Inspect and test completed tools, dies, jigs or fixtures for proper operation
Successful candidates will possess strong mechanical and/or technical ability. Energetic candidates with a strong command of the English language are required.
