The teams met at the office around 1 pm, had a 30 min meeting where different routes were distributed by the team leaders, after that work started.
Usually the team leader drove his/her team to the work site. Break time was available, and water was offered, because it was summer and we worked outside.
The salary was entirely by commission.
One learns how to be patient and stay positive even after bad days. sometimes the weather would be unfavorable, sometimes one met people who were hostile towards strangers knocking at their doors (which is understandable). one learns how stay pleasant and turn a bad situation into an opportunity, and sometimes one just have to accept the reality of things and respect the client's choice.

A typical day would include making phone calls to home owners who may be interested in purchasing home security. I learned that being patience and ambitious were required qualities to be successful in this job. The manager there was very supportive as well as my co workers, everyone was willing to help when I was in need of it. The hardest part of the job was dealing with inconsiderate customers and the most enjoyable part was knowing that the homeowner who purchased the home security, now lives in a safer home.
