Great job if you want to stay in touch with technology
Store Manager, Assistant Manager (Current Employee), burlington – February 27, 2013
Always something new at work, I have learned many different things with technology. Everyone at work is easy to get a long with. The hardest part of my job is when you can't solve the customers issue and the most enjoyable part of my job is making people happy.
Wireless Consultant (Former Employee), Moncton, NB – January 22, 2013
Typical day at Wireless Wave was fun, good atmosphere, great co-workers, I learned a lot about the selection of the newest products on the market I-Phone, Droids, Blackberry. Make outbound calls to clients whose contract is about to be up or if a client has met the qualifications to upgrade they're mobile phone. I really enjoyed interacting with the – more... public. I had to leave on good terms as working in the mall was not a good fit for a simple health issue. I enjoyed my time with Wireless Wave / Glentel – less
sales manager (Former Employee), toronto – April 29, 2013
Pros: nice blackberry 10 demo
Cons: lack of support, constant i.t. system issues. not enough commissions
Glentel seemed to have a successful history and I was thrilled to be apart of the Target Mobile Launch. Howver, going into a new concept with no preconcenived idea of set up was a shock. We had an isle and no counters or work areas to have contracts signed. We used floors to separate contracts. District Managers were only supportive via email so very – more... little face to face communication. Staff were left feeling a sink or swim feeling and mgrs had no extra training at time of launch than a sales rep had. Zero time spent getting familar with navigating through dealer websites. Terrible training with hands on systems and procedures. Systems went down too often and customers walked. Target is the store. Target Mobile is the store within a store which translated into not being able to advertise. My biggest disappointment in the wireless world which I have been in since 1994. Nicest benefit was a company demo phone. Made solid connections with the rest of the sales mgrs and reps who were clinging to life within a company who pays min commissions and higher hourly rates... Never saw a company fire so many reps and mgrs within 3 months. Rather than work with staff they fire them. Cost of aquisition is no big deal to Glentel. The sharks at wireless wave would drown in the gondola if they had to work in this environment for a month. The experience made me decide to retire in the wireless world for good. – less
