Productive and Fun Work Environment
Delivery Driver (Current Employee), Colorado Springs, CO – December 1, 2013
Pros: i am able to pay my bills.
Cons: schedule isn't totally consistant where you can plan things far ahead of time.
A typical day at work is fun but productive, I learned something new on a daily basis, and get to fine tune my customer service skills, I get a work environment that I am left to my own devices to get my job done for the most part while working with great teammates. The hardest part of my job though is working in and through the bad weather that Colorado – more... can be known for. But at the same time that is over looked due to working with great people, and delivering to some uplifting people as well. – less
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee), Sacramento, CA – September 4, 2013
Pros: great discount on parts that are charged and taken out of your paycheck
Cons: advancement is slow
Management was fair, but advancement was slow and almost non existent. To get into Management you pretty much had to wait for someone to get fired, and then fight with everyone else who was waiting. The parts sold are good parts, but ridiculously more expensive than competitors
Napa does offer competitive pay. BUT they dont treat employees well
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Salt Lake City, UT – September 4, 2013
Pros: good pay
Cons: managment sucks, no sick days. alot of politics. alot of favortism
I liked that there was variety in my daily tasks. There was a lot to learn and some stress to keep you on your toes. Management is very poor, Middle and upper. Coworkers were not very impressive either. Very immature and petty, seek out opportunities to get you in trouble I felt like I was in grade school again with all the tattle telling. Now that – more... I have been let go due to a reduction in force. I look forward to working for a professional company. where I can be managed professionally and grow professionally. I definetley look forward to working with people of a higher caliber. The hardest part of my job was the workload. They had absolutely ridiculous work expectations. I liked being able to work independently. I had my responsibilities and I liked being able to meet the needs of the jobbers and build a report with them. – less
Hard job, no training. You are on your own mentality
Loss Prevention (Former Employee), MA – September 3, 2013
Pros: employee discount
Cons: management, management and management
When I started at NAPA, there was no training at all. You were left to your own devices. After about 18 month's and a lot of complaining, I was sent to work with another person. That person's idea of training was to take me to lunch and drive around. I would stay away from this place!!
Counter Salesman/Delivery Driver (Former Employee), Marietta, GA – August 30, 2013
Counter Sales was a lot of fun, seeing customers each day with different problems and knowing you can help is nice. Delivery was interesting being able to see the shops, get to know the customers and keep things going.
Delivery Driver / Counter & Phones (Former Employee), Marana, AZ – August 28, 2013
Pros: was able to learn more with napa traning program on my own time
Cons: unsafe delivery trucks we had to drive & unsafe shop
My Co-Workers are great to work with everyday. Enjoyed plan a grams to make the shop look good. Kept it clean. Inventory was enjoyable. Restocking product was easy also. Not much space to work with but I made it work. Enjoyed dispatching helping the drivers gather all the items needed for each run. Useing the PC to help customers over the counter & – more... on the phone with what they were needing. It really distrubed me that I had no choice but to resign from Napa as a Delivery Driver. Was not worth the risk in such unsafe trucks driving over 200miles a day. The owner wouldnt listen to me or acknoledge my complaints over safety issues. Over the months I honestly couldnt take it anymore not for little pay. Having no acess or being able to review my time sheet or getting anykind of access to my paycheck stubs every payday upset me also, Once again my boss wouldnt comply with my requests on these & many other issues. Other than that I would never have left Napa Auto Parts if only. – less
Stockroom Associate (Former Employee), Westbrook, ME – August 26, 2013
Pros: helpful co-workers. positive work environment.
Cons: no a/c so hot conditions in the summer
I really enjoyed working for NAPA. The work was fast paced and the people friendly. Management was more than willing to pitch in when needed. The warehouse is not air conditioned making conditions a bit unbearable during the real hot days but the company did what it could to help with high powered fans, ice cream, water and sports drinks. Would go back – more... in a heartbeat. – less
Delivery Driver (Former Employee), Springfield, Illinois – August 9, 2013
Delivering auto parts to mechanics around town. You learn a lot directions around your city. Fun people to work with, balance of fun and business. Early morning hours and if its slow its really boring. Very Easy Job
