At our south side Edmonton location we are currently recruiting for:

Licensed Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics/Millwrights

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain trucks, tractors, trailers, forklifts and other specialized yard equipment (prior experience with scrap handling equipment (i.e. Liebherr cranes) would be an asset
  • Diagnose equipment failures and make recommendations on repair options
  • Perform CVIP inspections
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and maintenance records as required through company policy and/or existing legislation
  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine diagnostic/repair requirements and work procedures
  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, and generators according to existing layout plans using hand and power tools
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
  • Install, to troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vaccuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment

Must Have:

  • A great attitude
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills in order to prioritize critical tasks in a high volume and busy environment
  • 5+ years experience
