General Dynamics Canada currently has a requirement for a Junior Systems Engineer within our Airborne Systems Business Area. The incumbent will be part of the team developing the Aurora Data Management System (DMS). The DMS forms the core data management component of the Aurora Airplane.
General Dynamics Airborne Systems are leaders in airborne data management, systems integration and acoustic signal processing systems.
The responsibilities and range of activities will vary, but in general will include:
- Performing requirements analysis and maintenance
- Supporting the generation test verification reports
- Designing and developing data integrity tools used for validation
- Producing requirements verification reports
- Investigating and responding to problem reports
- Updating System Design documents to reflect implemented functionality
Minimum 1 year electronics or systems/software engineering experience.
Desire to participate in large scale military system design and development.
Exposure to requirement analysis, system design, integration, and test processes and methodologies.
Experience with any of the following tools are highly desirable:
- Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest
- Microsoft Visio
- Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, with minimum supervision.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
Knowledge and use of a requirements management tool would be an asset
Knowledge and use of a problem reporting tool would be an asset
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or applicable scientific discipline is required.
Candidates must be eligible to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance, Typically requires ten years residency in Canada.
