Just a fun place to work.
zoneworker (Former Employee), Avon, INAugust 12, 2013
Pros: walked alot good exercise.
Cons: sometimes long hours but paycheck was great and worth it.
Most of the people i worked with had a positive attitude ,with the willingness to help you if you needed it.Managers were always willing to help if they thought you were struggling.I loved going to work and interacting with so many different cultures .I believe we learn from one another.

Pros: safety dinners, safety awards, employ gift cards, great benefits always showed appreciation for a job well done
Cons: moved to another state
I enjoyed my job there . Benefits were great I would still work there but they closed the doors and moved to another State but I was told There was an open door for me if I ever need a job and given a great letter of recommendation. A day there was very busy but leadership was always there to put in an extra hand when needed

Genco has been a good place to work as far as earnings and benefits. The only issue is there is not a good quality of life balance.

Worst Company I EVER Worked For
Warehouse Labor (Current Employee), Hazleton PAJuly 30, 2013
Cons: everything mentioned above
I have worked for many companies before but this is the worst one I have worked for ever. Management is terrible and rules through intimidation and scare tactics. Management on my shift are all friends from a previous job so it is an old boys club. Company relies on temporary workers for the bulk of the positions. Job advancement chances are few and – more... far between. Company would rather hire a temporary worker to fill that position than promote someone who is company. Equipment is poorly maintained and sometimes very unsafe to operate despite noting problems on daily check sheet. Human resources is inept and ineffective. They never have any answers to problems people may have. Management always give the answer "we are working on it" if there is a problem. Company recently gave a dollar raise to only a select group of workers instead of the entire warehouse so moral is even lower and the companies' response is "if you do not like it there is the door because there are five more where you came from". STAY AWAY FROM GENCO IN HAZLETON! – less

Pros: great salary and close to home
Cons: high benefit premiums
I work in a fast paced and challenging environment. Makes you think on your feet 24/7. The most enjoyable part of my day is the praise I get from my coworkers about how much they like me and appreciate the quality of service I provide to them.

Worst company that I ever worked for
Supervisor (Former Employee), Braselton GAJune 21, 2013
Due to the fact that I came from a huge company and went in as supervisor, I was automatic a target on the "boys club" ( the old management and sups). Genco does not care about their employees, they dont recognize their good supervisors and managers and most of all there's no work life balance. I'll never recommend this company to no one, they tell – more... us as supervisor not to give the employees lunch because "we will not work more than 6hrs" and they end it up work the poor guys 9hrs with no lunch. They promote TM's with no supervision knowledge and expect them to know everything, so the "power" goes over their heads and the new "sup/ops manager" talk to the tm's at any kind way they want such as sexist, they say to a simple employee that if they know that they participate in such religion they would never hired them, and by God you better not be a temp, they will treat you like dogs. Do not work for Genco Braselton GA facility you will regret. – less

friendly warehouse with competent staff
Parcel Assistant (Former Employee), Groveport, OHJune 8, 2013
Cons: short breaks, cannot leave for lunch
My typical day at work began with stretches and a warm up. This was followed by getting orders from my supervisor. Once orders were obtained the hard part of the job began. typically I would be Given bulk or heavy orders including large company style printers. I would process these printers and ready them for loading on an outbound container. The management – more... was reasonable with their demands for any given day. The co workers were nice enough and fairly efficient at completing assigned tasks – less

Pros: steady work load, big on safety, team mate appreiciation
Cons: no way of moving up positions
While working at Genco, time management and attentiveness have become a crucial part of my everyday. Neither the teammates, team leaders, nor supervisors are above helping when it is needed.

It was a friendly place to work.
Lift Truck Operator (Former Employee), Tobyhanna, PAJune 5, 2013
Pros: there is a variety of mahines to use to get the job done right.
Cons: they were cutting hours in the off season.
I would use a Reach Truck to pull out the product in the racks. I would also take the product from the lanes and store them in the racks until the product was needed to fill an order for the customer. I learned how to work in a fast paced warehouse. The hardest part of my job was trying to fill an order when we ran out of the product in the warehouse – more... or when the product was damaged in a location and we had to get it down from the racks safely. The most enjoyable part of the job was driving all the machines. I have a lot of experience with a variety of machines and I enjoy working with them to get the job done in a timely manner. – less
