No respect for core values. Internal politics comes first.
Superviseur (Current Employee), Coteau-du-lac, QC – June 10, 2013
Pros: average for all
Cons: poor communication and internal politics rules.
High management is not following the core value of the corporation and communicating info about the disrespect of core value to your superior may cost you your job.

Losts of internal unwriten politics to beware of.

Sadly, this is an ordinary place with big communication problems.

Installations are less than 5 years old. Opening of the Distribution – more... Center in 2008. Makes that part easier.

Enormous turn over of employees and more or less up to date training system.

Must not meet with higher hiarchy alone in case of discontentment. – less

Very low pay for backbreaking labour..
Delta, 7003 Shipper (Former Employee), delta – May 27, 2013
Pros: good people to work with
Cons: very low pay for extremely hard work.
I would personally not recommend working here for the amount of pay they were offering. They hassled you to work fast, but the cargo was over 100lbs each and the team was very understaffed...

Great Benefits- not the greatest people
Worker (Former Employee), Calgary, AB, CAN – March 13, 2013
Pros: extra days and hours off available.
Cons: hr officce is conmpletely rude and unhelpfull- they'd rather yell at you!
After working at the Genco in Calgary, AB, CAN. the benefits were great- extra days off, a place that really gives you the benefit of the doubt! the hours are reasonable- but they keep changing them slightly... the managers were pretty good- it seemed like when you had something to say- they would listen!! WARNING: don't go to the HR/Teammate services- – more... you will get snarled or yelled at... very unproffessional and rude in that office! – less

friendly warehouse with competent staff
Parcel Assistant (Former Employee), Groveport, OH – June 8, 2013
Cons: short breaks, cannot leave for lunch
My typical day at work began with stretches and a warm up. This was followed by getting orders from my supervisor. Once orders were obtained the hard part of the job began. typically I would be Given bulk or heavy orders including large company style printers. I would process these printers and ready them for loading on an outbound container. The management – more... was reasonable with their demands for any given day. The co workers were nice enough and fairly efficient at completing assigned tasks – less

Sorter Operator, Scanner (Current Employee), Indianapolis, IN – June 7, 2013
Pros: steady work load, big on safety, team mate appreiciation
Cons: no way of moving up positions
While working at Genco, time management and attentiveness have become a crucial part of my everyday. Neither the teammates, team leaders, nor supervisors are above helping when it is needed.

It was a friendly place to work.
Lift Truck Operator (Former Employee), Tobyhanna, PA – June 5, 2013
Pros: there is a variety of mahines to use to get the job done right.
Cons: they were cutting hours in the off season.
I would use a Reach Truck to pull out the product in the racks. I would also take the product from the lanes and store them in the racks until the product was needed to fill an order for the customer. I learned how to work in a fast paced warehouse. The hardest part of my job was trying to fill an order when we ran out of the product in the warehouse – more... or when the product was damaged in a location and we had to get it down from the racks safely. The most enjoyable part of the job was driving all the machines. I have a lot of experience with a variety of machines and I enjoy working with them to get the job done in a timely manner. – less

One of the lowest paying places in Humbolt Industrial Park.
Rather not say. (Current Employee), Hazleton, PA – April 19, 2013
Pros: my schedule and most coworkers
Cons: just about everything.
One of the lowest paying places in Humbolt Industrial Park. The management on my shift was pretty great, but was obviously lacking on other shifts. They do promote from within usually, but they often pick the dumbest person possible for the positions. Impossible to get straight answers about anything from Human Resources, and when you do get an answer – more... they are often wrong. Instituted a "mandatory overtime" policy a few months after I started. I and many other people had payroll mistakes quite often, some of which HAVE STILL NOT BEEN CORRECTED MONTHS LATER. Nothing quite like being underpaid and not being sure week by week if your paycheck will be $200 short on top of it.

Very hard to recommend this place to anyone, but sometimes you just need to take a job and keep your mouth shut until something better comes along. – less

a great place to work
Warehouse Associate (Former Employee), Henderson, NC – April 18, 2013
Pros: pay, vacation, great atmosphere
Cons: long hours
When I was working at Genco, it was one of the best experiences that ive ever had in a job. I learned about inventory control and how to lead a shift of about 15 people. the hardest part of the job was the long hours but the most enjoyable part was working around different kinds of people that all got along to make that one goal.

fast paced work with nice work schedule and hours
Truck Unloader (Former Employee), Pataskala, OH – April 9, 2013
i usually unloaded about 4-7 semi trucks daily along with my team of other employees and i was taught how to safely unload trailers.my co-workers where very enjoyable to be around. they always made you feel comfortable at work. the hardest part of the job was unloading trucks during the winter time at a fast pace while also having a time limit. for – more... me the most enjoyable part of the day was the end of the day when we finished all our trucks for the day on time and our jobs where completed. – less

Operations Supervisor (Current Employee), Fort Worth, TX – March 19, 2013
The GTS business segment of Genco is strictly bottom line driven, which is generally not good for front line teammates.

Stiffels Creativity - Employees are Un-appreciated
Logistic Report Writer (Current Employee), Blawnox, PA 15068 – March 16, 2013
Pros: peer associates
Cons: don't question manager.
Prepared reports with manager's numbers used. When they were questioned about "Cooking the Books" blame was put on the employee and fired. Unfair treatment to that person. I watched this happen to several other employees with similar results. Watch your back! Employees are responsible for management's screw-ups!
