The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work with other creative engineers and project managers in a collaborative environment on projects for Genalta Power and third party clients. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will provide senior engineering leadership to the engineering team, working along side engineers of other disciplines and specialities.

Reporting to: Engineering Manager – GPI Engineering.
Location: Mississauga,Ontario


Executing mechanical engineering deliverables on multiple projects in a dynamic work environment. Ensure codes and standards (both legislated and client-specific) are being met.

Responsible for communicating project deliverables and expectations to the project/design team. Ongoing and proactive communication with Project Manager regarding project status and deliverables.

Identifying and defining mechanical scope requirements including man-hour estimates, schedules, DBM/GES development.

Participation in client/vendor/contractor meetings including HAZOP’s, Model Reviews and Design Reviews.

Execute mechanical equipment specifications and datasheets (RFQ process); Execute mechanical bid evaluations for equipment (RFP purchase)

Execute required mechanical calculations for equipment, materials, and pipeline

Execute study work and develop mechanical reports, Execute tie-in lists and line lists.

Provide support to drawing and P&ID development

Review and approve mechanical drawings (isometrics, orthos) and CWP’s

Responsibility for engineering stamping of drawings as directed by the Director, Engineering.



M.Eng/M.Sc is an asset


10 – 15 years minimum experience in industrial or major construction projects.
