Gasmaster Industries manufactures twenty-six models of high efficiency, stainless steel, condensing boilers and water heaters with nominal rating in the range of 200 - 8000 MBH (= 58.6 - 2344 kW). Each model consists of two or more parallel stainless steel coils. These are held in a vertical plane, at a predetermined distance from each other. The volume contained between the conical sections of the coil defines the combustion chamber, while the remaining flat sections of the coils form the tail pipe through which the exhaust gases enter the housing. Cold water enters each coil at the perimeter and exits at the center adjacent to the hub. This configuration allows for a counter flow heat exchange process, which maximizes heat transfer between water and the coils.
Operation of the boilers and water heaters is based on GMI's patented radial pulsed technology. Due to the turbulent mode of heat transfer, the turbulence in the water flow and the direct heating of the coils, the overall heat transfer (thermal) efficiency of the product is in the range of 94.0% - 99.8%, which depends on the return water temperature. Gasmaster products have been certified as both water boilers and water heaters (one pass heating applications). As well, they have been certified for swimming pools and potable water applications. All boilers and water heaters incorporate a unique and patented throttle mechanism. Using a high precision, digital temperature controller, the owner selects the desired hot water temperature. By automatically varying the air and gas flow rates; the throttle mechanism ensures that water is continuously delivered within ± 1º F of the desired value. The throttle mechanism almost eliminates the on/off cycles of the boiler and water heater, thus significantly improving the service life of the product, while increasing the efficiency of the overall heat delivery system by eliminating the cold starts.
