Garibaldi Glass is a privately held, well established Burnaby based glass fabrication facility currently employing approximately 155 staff and servicing international markets. Garibaldi is a leading glass fabricator and has recently moved to its new 150,000 square foot facility. We are a make to order facility with short lead times. The company is on a journey to becoming world class and is employing continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to achieve this.

Garibaldi Glass is currently seeking an Electrician to join it’s team in the Maintenance Department.

Reporting to the Maintenance Leader, you will be responsible for a wide variety of electrical duties, as they apply to upgrades to current plant equipment to comply with current CSA standards and WCB requirements.

Key Areas of Contribution

Complete all necessary electrical upgrades as specified by CSA and/or WCB to operating and non operating plant equipment as directed. Complete any additional repairs and modifications or upgrades that will enhance the operating efficiency and or life cycle of the equipment.

Assist the current maintenance staff with ongoing maintenance projects as assigned by the Maintenance Leader.

Qualifications
Valid BC or Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician ticket
Minimum of 5 years electrical experience in a manufacturing environment
Excellent trouble shooting skills
PLC, welding and fabrication experience. A current welding ticket would be a distinct advantage.
Experience in reading diagrams, schematic drawing, hydraulic and pneumatic experience
Able to work weekends and to work different shifts
Strong English language communication skills â€" oral and written
Ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or contribute to a team effort when required.
Must have knowledge of electrical installation best practices and have own tools
Experience in millwright duties an asset, mechanically inclined and experience working on a variety of machinery
