Dock Worker (Current Employee) – Winnipeg, MB – 27 October 2017
Working for Gardewine is my first warehouse job experience. Gardewine is a fast-paced environment and teaches you hands on during your time there, which is great. Although, the management could improve. Supervisors tend to abuse their power in command against a lot of the dockworkers, and could be a very intimidating place to be work at.

the drivers I worked with were a great bunch, and more professional than management. Management not so great. No responsibility by management for repairs or service to building. If you have allergies, avoid working here as it will make you sick.
I started on the west coast and spent 11 good years there. They shut the operation in Vancouver and when I moved to Winnipeg things were starting to degrade. Typically I wouldn't know what I was doing until either the day before or the same day. I did not get along with one particular person in driver services and he made my life hard. Most of my co-workers were good. I had no time for a social life and the money could have been better. I have always enjoyed driving and that made the job more tolerable.
Not bad place to work at..however some of the supervisors can be a little insensitive but most were awesome. They were great with breaks and if you were ill. Great group of co workers. very knowledgable. If you were unsure of something they were all great in helping you out.
- I have learned to take each each day as it comes. Everyday is a learning experience for me not only about the company, the work itself but most especially on how to be systematic in my work and dealings with different kinds of people everyday.
